Indonesian Garuda Airlines Holds Singapore Airlines in Mutual Agreement

Indonesian Airlines looking for great opportunity when put their agreement with Singapore airline to increase their passenger rate, as well as to increase amount of visitors with Indonesian destination. Indonesian has Bali and Garuda looks it as great change when they signed MoU with Singapore Airlines.

Indonesian Airlines, Garuda Indonesia announced that Garuda has been making agreement with Singapore Airlines in Fighting Operational and Ticketing Selling since June 20, 2008. The agreement’ goal is to increase, easier flight to Bali for foreign visitors. Singapore is best place for transit, so Garuda takes this opportunity to get more passengers (travelers, tourists) to Bali with Singapore as transit place.

Garuda Indonesia was represented by Mr Emirsyah as Garuda SEO and Singapore Airlines represented by Singapore Airlines SEO, Chew Choon Seng. The agreement (Memo of Understand MoU) was signed in Jakarta.

The implementation of the agreement is to increase the flight schedule trip to one trip per day and available on August 1 next two months. Garuda hopes with the MoU, traveler’ passenger rate will be higher in the future.

Through this agreement, Garuda will get extra benefits, SPECIAL PRORATE AGREEMENT (SPA); for Singapore destination, and any American, Middle East and Europe destinations. Garuda SEO said that with SPA, Garuda Indonesia could sold Garuda Tickets to any destination but the passengers flight with Singapore Airlines.

Garuda estimates from this agreement is Load Factor rate rises to upper 80 percent and rises to 4 million passengers or 7 percent of its growth at second quarter from previously quarter.

The fact showed that travelers or passengers went Bali are transited in Singapore as the gate to any Indonesian cities such as Jakarta, Bali, Jogjakarta and others Indonesian destinations. Singapore Airlines CEO promised that they will focus on traveler promotion packages to any cities in Indonesia. The fact showed that Most travelers went to Bali in August to September. Statistic shows that Labor Factor rate from Singapore Airline rate to Bali could reached 80-90 percent. The number will higher when holiday season in January.

Garuda will increases number of Flight from Singapore-Bali from seven times a week to eleven times a week, Garuda Official Agus Priyanto said. According to him, Passenger will higher in New Year holiday and they still look that Bali is beautiful place so they will spend their holiday in Bali. Through this agreement MoU, Garuda Ticket is easier to get in Singapore. While access to Indonesia is easier to get, Garuda hopes that their passenger estimate will be reached.

Inflation and Interest Rate, Current Case in Indonesia

Indonesian Banks ready to increase interest rate of some savings; consist of Regular Savings, Fix and Durable Deposit, and Giro after LPS (Indonesian institutional for Saving Security) increased its interest rate to follow the inflation rapid and to avoid drain money from banks.
Yesterday, Vice President of BCA Jahja Setiatmadja said that they (BCA) would like to increase interest rate of those savings accounts. In BCA, annually Durable Deposit interest rate is 5.5 percent.
A week before, The LPS Meeting has been determining that in period June 15th to September 14th 2008, savings security interest for commercial banks is 8.5 percent or up 25 points, previously 8.25 percent. Newer savings security is 8.5 percent equivalent with Indonesian Reserve Bank (BI Rate) Interest rate reference.
Chief executive PLS Firdaus Djaelani said that the new 8.5 percent based on their consideration that in coming months, Banks will offers higher interest rate, to follow the inflation rate.
LPS (Saving Security) is a security and lender to guarantee costumers saving if the Banks collapsed. So Commercial Banks must follow their decision and rules. LPS guarantees up to 100 million IDR with 8.5 percent interest rate per year. LPS doesn’t guarantee costumers saving account if either 100 million IDR or 8.5 percent of interest rate are restricted.
A local Indonesian Banks (BRI) Official staff said that their bank still in progress to determine their bank has or hasn’t to adjust their interest rate. BRI still uses 5.25 percent per year for monthly durable deposit.
Interest rate is crucial indicator for Commercial Banks to keep their costumers. Higher dispute between Interest rate and Inflation rate will make costumers run their money from lower interest banks.
Until April 2008, Banks’ interest rate are decreasing trend. March 2008, Banks’ interest rate was around 6.84 percent per year, down to 6.81 percent per year in April. Lower deposit will make investment goes well, otherwise, running high on interest rate will make people put their money in Banks to get return.
General Chief of Commercial banks association, Sigit Pramono said, inefficiency banks (high cost) will increase their credit interest soon. “They (Banks) is still waiting each others, who is the leader to increase interest rate first.”
But for banks which cheap capital dominating, in short-term they find no reason to increase the current interest rate. They prefer cutting on their profit, better than increase the interest rate.

Indonesian awaking day

Today Indonesians celebrate the anniversary of Indonesian awaking day which declaration in 1908 by Dr. Soetomo. I think Indonesians awaking day is the same as Kun-Koch-Klan in America.

What beyond on Indonesian awaking day? When 1908, Dr. Soetomo declaration awaking day, Indonesians started to unite, stick together to fight against their enemy, Netherlands. Before Dr. Soetomo declared it, Indonesians are divided into local and small kingdom. They fought it traditionally and it easy to destroy by Netherlands.

Beyond Soetomo, Indonesian has new vision to get freedom. Indonesians didn’t have gun as main machine to battle but Indonesians has their idea, their mouth in diplomacy.

Through united, it is easier to freedom from colonialism, and proven at 17^th august 1945.

Today, we celebrate back those heroes. We just not remember back their memorized, but we must stick together every time, every mind, idea to make Indonesia better. Our daily live must filled a vision to bring back Indonesian to worldwide so they will say; Indonesia is biggest countries, superpower in all aspects.

We must fill our daily live with something useful to our countries, like them. Indonesians must forget their fanatic, cultures, religions, islands, so they can associate with each other, to build Indonesia become big country, wealth, and peace. We must show them that Indonesia have great cultures as our proud not a gap.

Indonesian Education

Writing Lesson is Given in Elementary School only

I must tell my opinion and maybe dear readers have the same opinion with me, about education.

When I was sitting in the elementary school, we had writing lesson. I remember my first writing. I wrote about my story, an accident, fallen from three and bla bla bla. Writing lesson is given only when we are kids, sitting in elementary school.

In my Junior and Senior High Scholl, I got nothing. There was no writing lesson. Maybe the teachers thought that we could development our writing latent ourselves and outstandingly.

In my opinion, my cases work well to my friend in other school in Indonesia. The biggest impact is when we attended university where writing opinion and the task from lecture were available everyday. And the impact still flows on where we get older.

I become blogger. Blogger’s products are articles and must unique article, not copy and paste so we must write ourselves. I am blessed because I have good latent in writing. I sharp my own talent with some exercises.

Many Indonesian kids have no diary. Diary is the main tools to increase our writing talent. In other countries (rich countries) kids have their own diaries at most.

As blogger, I have written more than 500 articles (unique content). When I was thinking that bloggers is great job, I sharing my job my core business to others friends. I have to tell them like or dislike because most of them have trouble in financial. When I told them, their first reaction is I haven’t good writing talent. Too sad!

If those people haven’t good talent in writing, it is indicating that our education isn’t good enough, worst and worst.
