Indonesian Garuda Airlines Holds Singapore Airlines in Mutual Agreement

Indonesian Airlines looking for great opportunity when put their agreement with Singapore airline to increase their passenger rate, as well as to increase amount of visitors with Indonesian destination. Indonesian has Bali and Garuda looks it as great change when they signed MoU with Singapore Airlines.

Indonesian Airlines, Garuda Indonesia announced that Garuda has been making agreement with Singapore Airlines in Fighting Operational and Ticketing Selling since June 20, 2008. The agreement’ goal is to increase, easier flight to Bali for foreign visitors. Singapore is best place for transit, so Garuda takes this opportunity to get more passengers (travelers, tourists) to Bali with Singapore as transit place.

Garuda Indonesia was represented by Mr Emirsyah as Garuda SEO and Singapore Airlines represented by Singapore Airlines SEO, Chew Choon Seng. The agreement (Memo of Understand MoU) was signed in Jakarta.

The implementation of the agreement is to increase the flight schedule trip to one trip per day and available on August 1 next two months. Garuda hopes with the MoU, traveler’ passenger rate will be higher in the future.

Through this agreement, Garuda will get extra benefits, SPECIAL PRORATE AGREEMENT (SPA); for Singapore destination, and any American, Middle East and Europe destinations. Garuda SEO said that with SPA, Garuda Indonesia could sold Garuda Tickets to any destination but the passengers flight with Singapore Airlines.

Garuda estimates from this agreement is Load Factor rate rises to upper 80 percent and rises to 4 million passengers or 7 percent of its growth at second quarter from previously quarter.

The fact showed that travelers or passengers went Bali are transited in Singapore as the gate to any Indonesian cities such as Jakarta, Bali, Jogjakarta and others Indonesian destinations. Singapore Airlines CEO promised that they will focus on traveler promotion packages to any cities in Indonesia. The fact showed that Most travelers went to Bali in August to September. Statistic shows that Labor Factor rate from Singapore Airline rate to Bali could reached 80-90 percent. The number will higher when holiday season in January.

Garuda will increases number of Flight from Singapore-Bali from seven times a week to eleven times a week, Garuda Official Agus Priyanto said. According to him, Passenger will higher in New Year holiday and they still look that Bali is beautiful place so they will spend their holiday in Bali. Through this agreement MoU, Garuda Ticket is easier to get in Singapore. While access to Indonesia is easier to get, Garuda hopes that their passenger estimate will be reached.
